Maniac Monday #4 2012

Wow how time flies when you cuddle with a baby. LOL! I sure am having fun with him. I have been busy sewing also.

1. Finishes ALL PJ's and lazy pants.
I finished this large task. The girls are SO happy to have new PJ bottoms. I am glad to have new lazy pants. Total made 13 pairs!
2. Count On It~Art to Heart,
a) take a picture of January
Still need to do this.
b) finish February
Sewed top, added applique and buttons, and sewed the embroidery.
3. Start sewing on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt Double Delight. (PQA)
Goal: to finish one half
I did not even do one square.
4. Make the next four blocks in the Count Your Blessings Quilt Along. (PQA)
Did not do any.
5. Take a picture of my PQA Block Swap for February.
Done and posted.

What I accomplished that was not on my list...
I finished my February flowers. She asked for blue or white centers and pedals. I hope that she likes these.

I finished my February Schnibble pattern. It is so cool. But can I say I HATED most of this quilt. I did not like the little HST or the tiny checkerboard pieces. It took much longer than last months. Now that it is done I love it!! It reminds me of spring.

My list for next week:
1. Block Swap Adventure blocks for February and March
2. Count on It~ Art to Heart for February and start on March
3. Hello Sun QA for January and February
4. Bonnie Hunter step 1.

I know I have not been around much. Just remember that I miss all of you. It means a lot to me that you still stop by here when I post. THANK YOU!

Extra Blocks and Flowers

This is a block I made for my partner in PQA (Parma Quilters Anonymous). She provided the black and asked for any bright star block. I know she will love it.

Here are the flowers I received from my partner in The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. Thank you Ros, I love them.

Also in my PQA group we are doing a Quilt Along. Here are my first three blocks. I am looking forward to doing this quilt.

Maniac Monday #3 2012

Well lets just say things have been C.R.A.Z.Y. around here and leave it at that. Jayden is such a blessing to have. I love that little guy. I babysat his two older sisters and it is so neat to be able to say I helped to take care of all of them.

Even though I have been busy with the little guy I have been sewing. I finished the last of the blocks for the Geese in a Ring Swap. I mailed them off and they are being sorted now to ship to their owners. I can't wait to see mine. I have a cool idea of how to set them.

I finished my Let's Bee Together block of January . Such an interesting and fun block. The quilt will be so filled with color.
I also finished my February block. I will be mailing it out soon. I love black, white and red!!

I received my block from Sandra for January for Block Swap Adventures. Can I say, she NAILED it. I love this block!! Thank you.

My daughter made a new shower curtain for the mail bathroom. This girl can sew! I make this matching all hanging out of some of the extra fabric. I love it. Next we are going to make some decorations out of toilet paper rolls.

Of my list from a while back that I did not get finished here is how it worked out.

3. Pick out fabric for Count Your Blessings Quilt Along. (PQA)

I did that. It took a while. The quilt is done in darker country looking fabrics and I don't have many. So my quilt will be a bit brighter. I think it will look great.

4. Make 3 #1 blocks for the above quilt. (PQA)
I finished the blocks. They are so cute. I have four blocks to make this month. I will add pictures later.

5. Start cutting fabric for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt Double Delight. (PQA)
I have finished cutting out step #1. I will need more time to start sewing them.

That is how far I have gotten. Oh one more thing. I have been holding off making PJ bottoms for my girls for two Christmas'. I know whats the hold up. Well I got my serger out last week and now I am committed to finishing all of them. I am even making my some "around the house" pants. I only wear jeans when I leave and since I am home most of the time I am in sweets. YUCKY! I need to feel pretty. So I bought three yards of five very nice fabrics (last summer, I know!) so I am making them also. So between the three of us I am making 13 pairs of pants. They are all cut out, inner seams sewn, front to back crotch seam, done. Now I am working on the serged seam at the waist and ankles. Then it is just side seam, adding the elastic and hemming the ankles. I am more than half way done. LOL! I will add pictures of them also.

For my list this next week:
1. Finishes ALL PJ's and lazy pants.
2. Count On It~Art to Heart,
a) take a picture of January
b) finish February
3. Start sewing on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt Double Delight. (PQA)
Goal: to finish one half
4. Make the next four blocks in the Count Your Blessings Quilt Along. (PQA)
5. Take a picture of my PQA Block Swap for February.

I am going to stop there. I have started a second list in my binder. We will see how far I get.

Another Year of Schnibbles!

I am so excited to be a part of
Another Year of Schnibbles
put on by Sinta at PINK PINCUSHION and Sherri at A Quilting Life. I had a lot of fun last year. I order my pattern late and only really worked on it today. It came together VERY quickly. I love it. This year I am only using fabric I have on hand. The only fabric I am allowing myself to buy for this is solids. I use a lot of white and black. I hope you have a good time hopping over to these two blogs tomorrow to see the Schnibbles Parade.

Here is my finished top!!

Oh and here is the reason for my blog silence.

On January 18th I started watching my little nephew. He is a sweety. His name is Jayden and he is 2 months old. I am having so much fun with him. Chat with you soon.

I had lots of time but just not for sewing. LOL!

So I am not posting a list for this next week. I am going to try and get as much rest as I can. I will finish up the one block I am working on and the other two Geese in a Ring blocks. I want to get them mailed off this weekend.

I hope everybody is feeling well.

Maniac Monday #1 2012

This is the first Maniac Monday for this year. Last Monday we needed some time to recover from our New Years Eve party. Then the stomach flu hit, every one in my family got it. I even got sick in my van. Let me tell you that was not fun to clean up. But all is back to normal now and things are being taken care of.

I received my block from my December partner for Block Swap Adventure. I love it.

I received the buttons from Quilting Gallery from way back in September for the Celebrate Christmas Quilt Along. I made 10 blocks. I want to make the rest. One day right? I have decided I am going to keep the stamps from all the mail I get. These are from South Africa, wow how cool!!

What I Accomplished...

In the sewing group I started almost 1 1/2 years ago , Parma Quilters Anonymous, we started a new year's project. Last year we did a Mercy Border Quilt. Mine is huge! Here is how mine was when finished in November:
So this year we are doing something smaller. We are doing a block exchange. I decided to do the Arrowhead Puzzle Block. I changed it so that in the end there will be two different colored squares. I can't wait to see it. I will make extra blocks each month so that I have more than 12 blocks.

I joined a group on flickr doing a Geese in a Ring Swap. We will make 8 blocks, mail them to the swap organizer, then she will sort and mail them back to the right person. Here are the first two blocks. I love them!!

Here is the block I made for my January partner for Block Swap Adventure. She asked for brights on black background. The colors are more intense in person.

New list of Goals:
1. Make 6 more Geese in a Ring blocks.
2. Make 2 hexie flowers for my partner.
3. Pick out fabric for Count Your Blessings Quilt Along.*
4. Make 3 #1 blocks for the above quilt.*

If there is more time:
5. Start cutting fabric for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt Double Delight.*

*Doing as part of Parma Quilters Anonymous.

OPAM finishes for December

I thought it would be easier to add all of my finishes in one post. I have a long list.

A practice wallet. I am using it to hold my snaps and my snap tool. So fun!

Some of the finishes are Christmas gifts.

Some are for Santa Sack Swap2.

Some are for another swap I was a part of.
Which of course I did not take any pictures of, LOL! Have a good day.

Finishing up Christmas and a Few Other Things...

I am happy to say I have made it through the year and have a few wonderful things to be proud of. For me one of the biggest is following along with Little Miss Shabby's Birdie Stitches. I loved them a year ago and I love them now. They are just so sweet. I finished this last one the first week of this month but I am only just now posting about it. I can't wait until next month to make it a top. Then I will find time to make it into a quilt. Thank you these patterns have been great.

I made two extra hexies this month for the gals that sent me hexies. There was a mix up and I got two sets. I felt so bad that one of them sent me a set when they did not have to and now would have to make another set for their correct partner. I hope they like them. They should have them by now or soon.

The partner I had in October got behind. Well what a shocker that I got the mail and here they were. Like an extra Christmas gift. I love them. Thank you!

Every year I make gifts for some of my closer nieces and nephews. This year I made wallets. I added 4 quarters for the girls and a dollar bill for the boys. They are great little wallets. I used a tutorial from Noodlehead. She has some great tutorials. Go check them out.

My last block for this year for Let's Bee Together was for Wendy. She had us use some very pretty Christmas fabric. I love it. I hope she likes her block.
