4. Bonnie Hunter step 1.
I have gotten about half of this step done. I already have all the pieces of step 2 cut out. Wow and step 2 is 120 more of the same block. :)

Onto other news...
I received my February block from my partner in Block Swap Adventures. I LOVE IT!! The blue and yellow have sparkle in it. Below is a close up. Thank you!! She even sent me a scrap piece of the blue.

I was part of a group on Flickr. The Geese in a Ring Swap. I received my blocks. The first block is the one I made. The others are made from the other 7 swap partners. Now I have 8 blocks. I will be making a few others to get 12 then I will be making it into a quilt. I was also thinking of making a very large one and placing it into the center and putting the other 8 around the outside. I am not sure.
Th one blow was made with hand dyed fabric, how special.
I think this one was made will my color choice was blue/yellow. It is very pretty.

I have mentioned before that in my quilt group that I started up in my hometown we are doing a quilt along. It is Count Your Blessings by Briarwood Cottage. These are the next blocks we made. The geese block I made two.

I made three of this block.

So for next week my goals are:

1. Finish step 1 and start on step 2 of Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt.
2. Finish March and April's Count on It calendar wall hangings.
3. Get caught up on my Designer Mystery blocks. I think I am about 6 blocks behind. Well ok maybe my goal should be get 2 blocks done. LOL!
4. Get started on my March Schnibble.

I hope everybody can set goals for themselves and get at least half of them crossed off your list.

Maniac Monday #3 2012

Well lets just say things have been C.R.A.Z.Y. around here and leave it at that. Jayden is such a blessing to have. I love that little guy. I babysat his two older sisters and it is so neat to be able to say I helped to take care of all of them.

Even though I have been busy with the little guy I have been sewing. I finished the last of the blocks for the Geese in a Ring Swap. I mailed them off and they are being sorted now to ship to their owners. I can't wait to see mine. I have a cool idea of how to set them.

I finished my Let's Bee Together block of January . Such an interesting and fun block. The quilt will be so filled with color.
I also finished my February block. I will be mailing it out soon. I love black, white and red!!

I received my block from Sandra for January for Block Swap Adventures. Can I say, she NAILED it. I love this block!! Thank you.

My daughter made a new shower curtain for the mail bathroom. This girl can sew! I make this matching all hanging out of some of the extra fabric. I love it. Next we are going to make some decorations out of toilet paper rolls.

Of my list from a while back that I did not get finished here is how it worked out.

3. Pick out fabric for Count Your Blessings Quilt Along. (PQA)

I did that. It took a while. The quilt is done in darker country looking fabrics and I don't have many. So my quilt will be a bit brighter. I think it will look great.

4. Make 3 #1 blocks for the above quilt. (PQA)
I finished the blocks. They are so cute. I have four blocks to make this month. I will add pictures later.

5. Start cutting fabric for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt Double Delight. (PQA)
I have finished cutting out step #1. I will need more time to start sewing them.

That is how far I have gotten. Oh one more thing. I have been holding off making PJ bottoms for my girls for two Christmas'. I know whats the hold up. Well I got my serger out last week and now I am committed to finishing all of them. I am even making my some "around the house" pants. I only wear jeans when I leave and since I am home most of the time I am in sweets. YUCKY! I need to feel pretty. So I bought three yards of five very nice fabrics (last summer, I know!) so I am making them also. So between the three of us I am making 13 pairs of pants. They are all cut out, inner seams sewn, front to back crotch seam, done. Now I am working on the serged seam at the waist and ankles. Then it is just side seam, adding the elastic and hemming the ankles. I am more than half way done. LOL! I will add pictures of them also.

For my list this next week:
1. Finishes ALL PJ's and lazy pants.
2. Count On It~Art to Heart,
a) take a picture of January
b) finish February
3. Start sewing on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt Double Delight. (PQA)
Goal: to finish one half
4. Make the next four blocks in the Count Your Blessings Quilt Along. (PQA)
5. Take a picture of my PQA Block Swap for February.

I am going to stop there. I have started a second list in my binder. We will see how far I get.

I made 4 more. I will be working on the other 2 this week.
Sorry about the lighting. I am having so much fun making these blocks.

2. Make 2 hexie flowers for my partner.

3. Pick out fabric for Count Your Blessings Quilt Along.*
Nope I never even looked.

4. Make 3 #1 blocks for the above quilt.*
No fabric picked out.

If there is more time:
5. Start cutting fabric for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt Double Delight.*
I had lots of time but just not for sewing. LOL!

So I am not posting a list for this next week. I am going to try and get as much rest as I can. I will finish up the one block I am working on and the other two Geese in a Ring blocks. I want to get them mailed off this weekend.

I hope everybody is feeling well.

Maniac Monday #1 2012

This is the first Maniac Monday for this year. Last Monday we needed some time to recover from our New Years Eve party. Then the stomach flu hit, every one in my family got it. I even got sick in my van. Let me tell you that was not fun to clean up. But all is back to normal now and things are being taken care of.

I received my block from my December partner for Block Swap Adventure. I love it.

I received the buttons from Quilting Gallery from way back in September for the Celebrate Christmas Quilt Along. I made 10 blocks. I want to make the rest. One day right? I have decided I am going to keep the stamps from all the mail I get. These are from South Africa, wow how cool!!

What I Accomplished...

In the sewing group I started almost 1 1/2 years ago , Parma Quilters Anonymous, we started a new year's project. Last year we did a Mercy Border Quilt. Mine is huge! Here is how mine was when finished in November:
So this year we are doing something smaller. We are doing a block exchange. I decided to do the Arrowhead Puzzle Block. I changed it so that in the end there will be two different colored squares. I can't wait to see it. I will make extra blocks each month so that I have more than 12 blocks.

I joined a group on flickr doing a Geese in a Ring Swap. We will make 8 blocks, mail them to the swap organizer, then she will sort and mail them back to the right person. Here are the first two blocks. I love them!!

Here is the block I made for my January partner for Block Swap Adventure. She asked for brights on black background. The colors are more intense in person.

New list of Goals:
1. Make 6 more Geese in a Ring blocks.
2. Make 2 hexie flowers for my partner.
3. Pick out fabric for Count Your Blessings Quilt Along.*
4. Make 3 #1 blocks for the above quilt.*

If there is more time:
5. Start cutting fabric for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt Double Delight.*

*Doing as part of Parma Quilters Anonymous.
