Block Swap Adventure

I blogged about the two quilts I made out of the blocks that I have been collecting from Block Swap Adventure without posting about the last two blocks. I received this one from Kathy. I hope that you can see that she pieced the center square. Lots of little pieces in there.

This is the one I sent her. It was so easy to make. But I love the looks of this block.

Block Swap Adventures

Over two years ago when I really started blogging and quilting heavy I came across Block Swap Adventures. I have made many wonderful blocks. Visited with some great people and one grouch. I have collected 27 blocks in the wonky star pattern. I love each one of them. Some I received from some very cool far away places. Sticking to my plan of finishing some stuff I broke out all of the blocks and made them into two small quilts. They are so fun!!

I am not sure yet what I am going to be doing with them. I was thinking about donating them but I might just keep these for the house. I am going to be shopping tomorrow for fun fabric to add one more border. I want to find some very bright colorful fabric. Then use black for the binding. So then I can add these to the very tall pile of finished tops.

What have I been up to...

This is Jayden, he is my nephew. He is eating his 1st birthday cupcake.

It is almost the end of the year and I feel changes coming on. I have had a very full year and I feel the need to lessen my schedule. With this little guy that I am taking care of turning into a walking toddler I need more free time to be able to take care of him the way he deserves. I can't be stressed out over to many things all month long. So as I go through these next few weeks of streamlining my quilting time I have decided to take a blogging break even though I might drop by here once or twice. I will be back after the first of the new year with a new routine. I can't wait. I am excited.

I have been trying to get a few things taken care of in my life. Swaps being the biggest. The number of swaps that I am a part of will be one of the things I cut out of my life. I have loved every minute of my swaps that I have been a part of over the last two years. The one swap that I am going to stay with is The Inchy Hexagon Swap. I do not have near enough flowers for my quilt yet, LOL!! Here are the flowers for my November partner. She asked for purple/red color flowers. I hope these work for her.

The next swap I am in is Block Swap Adventure. I have loved this swap. I have had many wonderful partners and one very rude woman that I am learning to forget. I have made many different blocks that I might not have tried on my own. This is one of the swaps I am dropping out of. I know that it is only one block a month but it is one day a month that I am focused on making something for someone else.

This block was so fun. It is for my November partner. It is so bright!

These blocks are from the same swap from my partner for November. She did not know which one to send to me so she sent me all three. I love them!!!

The next swap is Let's Bee Together. It works different then most groups. There are 12 swappers. We each take a month and send out fabric to the other 11 people. They make blocks for you and send them back that same month. I have had a great time in this group but this is another group I am not signing up with again. I have my blocks from last year that I have done nothing with and my month for this year is this month. Again I know that it is only one block a month but then with the month that I send out packages to everybody it is all the planning and cutting. I know! I sound like I am whining!

This block is for our leader. She is great for all that she has done. I can't wait to see the quilt that this block goes into.

Getting A Few Things Done!

I am trying to catch up. It is a bit tough since I have been overtaken by my RA. It does not like this weather, the cold and rainy. Plus after working so hard on those quilts and other projects I guess I was flying and so now I am crashing.

These flowers are for my October partner in the The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap.

These two following blocks is for Block Swap Adventures.

Just a Bunch of Stuff

Wow what a busy time I have had. I have a new calling in my church and it has kept me VERY busy. Also the quilt group I started got together today and tied 5 of the 9 quilts we made for a local home for troubled people. We have until November 11 to get them tied and bound. We will be going early December and handing them in. I can't wait to see all of the kids and adults getting quilts. How fun will that be.

I have gotten a few fun packages and have not posted anything yet. So here goes..

My September flowers for The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. They are so pretty.

Then my October flowers. I love these ones also.

Everybody has wanting to see a better picture of my Tree for Feafs me happy Blog Hop.  I love this block. I had so much fun cutting out all the leaves and playing with the placement. After things get back to "normal" around here I will quilt this and make it into a wall hanging. Below is a close up.

These following blocks are for Let's Bee Together. It was a really fun way to make these blocks. She is going to square them up after we send them to her.

This block is for my partner for Block Swap Adventure. She asked for any star block in red, white, and blue. This was a fun block to make. I hope she likes it.

I hope you all have a great day. I am still working on all those wonderful comments!!

Late Maniac Monday

I am a few days late with Maniac Monday but I  wanted to post anyway. I have had a good week and have gotten a few things done.

But first I wanted to thank everyone who stopped by my blog for the dots on dots Blog Hop. The turn out for me was so much greater than I could ever have hoped for. I had 80+ comments and a few people even decided they liked what I do and became followers. THANK YOU!!

This is the block I made for my September partner for Block Swap Adventure. She asked for 30's or 40's fabrics in an older style star. I love the way this block turned out.

For Parma Quilters Anonymous, a quilt group I started in my home town, we are doing a little quilt along. These are August and September blocks. I made three of the September blocks. I can't wait to put this quilt together. It will finish to look like this one.

For Saturday Sampler at my LQS this is my August stitchery. I love the ants. Someone's husband said they look like tiny cows. HA HA

I finished my September Schnibbles before the end of the month. I used a left over Halloween charm pack. This pattern is a new pattern by the creator of Schnibbles. It only uses the new "Candy" 2 1/2 inch squares Moda is coming out with. So fun!!

This is one of the two Plus Sign quilts I am making for a charity my church is giving to for Christmas. It is huge, my husband had a hard time holding the quilt and he is 6' 3"!

I also recovered my mini ironing board. This was getting bad and the insulation was showing through.
Before
After

I also made a pillow to go with my daughter's Senior quilt.

Then this morning I redid my wreathe that is hanging on my front door. I love Fall so this needed to be all orange and yellow and red. I have discovered an cool cheap trick. I used orange and red Loofah's to cover the wreathe and as a bow. Very cheep and easy to work with. I hope this helps get everybody in a festive Fall mood.

So for my list I got a few more things knocked off!

Maniac Monday

I have not done much for two weeks. The first week after taking DD#1 to college was hard. The second week was better. I feel much better now. I feel like I can get a lot done today.

Here are months May and July of my Saturday Sampler Stitcheries I have been doing. They are so fun. The pattern says to make them into little pillows. I am not sure If that is what I am going to do are make them into a little quilt.

These two blocks are from my partner from Block Swap Adventure. They are both so great. I sweet Fall one and then a very pretty bright one. Thank you!!

I made two of these blocks for my Let's Bee Together partner. They are so pretty. I love that fabric.

Before my DD#1 left for college we went to a near by river and took some family pictures. Here is DS and his wife. They have been married for over 1 year now.
Here is my husband, DD#1, DD#2 and me.
Here is a fun picture of me and Jayden, the little guy I am watching for my brother and sister-in-law. He is a sweety!!

Last week was Homecoming Week in my small town. We go TDed. I hate that!! Here is our front yard. You know I don't mind all the paper on the ground, it is so much easier to clean up then the stuff in the tree. She that piece there in that tree, my husband can't even reach it. Now we get to watch it fall apart all winter long. Darn those high schoolers!!!
