Frosty Flakes BOM

Dawn over As Sweet as Cinnamon at did a small wall hanging all the way back in August 4, 2010. It was called Frosty Flakes BOM. I had just started quilting, about 2 months and I was not very sure of myself. I knew I wanted to do this quilt. It was about snowflakes!! I went to a LQS and bought my very first charm pack. 12 Days of Christmas by Kate Spain for Moda. LOVE THAT FABRIC!!
That is what the Fat Quarterly Designer Mystery BOM is made with.

Here are the (9) 1/2" hexies. I loved making them.

Well after having the centers made since October I thought I better finish it.
Here are a few pictures of the steps.

Here is is finished. I love it.

Happy Quilting Quilt Along Top Finish

I joined Melissa at Happy Quilting in a quilt along. I have had the most fun. I finished the top tonight.
I LOVE IT!!

These are the four fabrics I bought. I got them at Joanns. The fabric is so great!

Here they are all cut up and ready to go.

Now the squares are all sewn together. Ready for cutting.

Cut and sewn back together.

Here is the two stacks of corner pieces.

Here are all the pieces. The HST are the extra bits.

Now the big squares are finished. I love the yellow.

Here it is all sewn together. I LOVE IT!! I think I have already said that. Melissa will be having a parade to show everybodies finished tops. Some have completed the quilt. Stop by here blog to have a look.

Charming Girls' Pincushion Swap

Over at Dandelion Quilts Kris was organizing a Pincushion Swap. I joined in the fun. I love pincushions and only have a few. I seem to only have the ones I need plus a few cute ones. You can never have enough.
This is the stuff I sent her.

I bought some Sculpey III clay and my daughter and I played around with it.
This is what I came up with. I love them!!

I used Hoopla.

I used a tutorial from Abyquilt. I also send a postcard, some M&M's, and mints.
I pincushion is hand sown and filled with kitty litter. I loved the weight of it.

My partner was Wendy over at Why Knot? This is the stuff she sent to me.
I LOVE ALL OF IT!! (was that too loud?)
Two wonderful coasters!

Here is the pincushion. Isn't that the best! HOPE! What all of should have.

Here is the back. I love it. I am not sure if you can see the quilting done. It is so great.

She sent some wonderful fabric. Of course the color is not right in the picture.

Here is her postcard. She lives in Montana, only a state away from me.

Here it is all together. Thank you Wendy.

Warning non-quilty post.

I am sorry I just had to share something. Today my daughter and I discovered fleas on 2 of our 5 animals. I HATE FLEAS!! So I went to town and bought flea bath, flea carpet powder, and flea drops. No we are done bathing everybody. All 5, 2 dogs and 3 CATS!! Have you ever given a cat a bath, how about THREE of them. I went searching and found a funny picture to share with you to give you and idea.
 Have a good day!

Pay It Forward from Sharon

Sorry that I have been gone for a while. My family is trying to get a few new things started. We got a membership at the YMCA and have been trying to go in the mornings to walk. I have teenagers who get themselves up for school so I don't have to be out of bed and ready for the day until 7:30am. Now with driving 20 miles to get to the Y a few days a week I have to be up at 4:50am. That is way to early for me. I am a "swing shift" person. Stay up late, get up late. So getting up EARLY is hard for me.
Sorry about the whining. LOL!!

I signed up under Sharon over at Vrooman's Quilts for the Pay It Forward 2011. She has already sent out my gift. I am so excited!! I love everything in the box. Thank you Sharon!!
Look at this beautiful card. I love it.
Next was this wonderful Cross-Stitch wall hanging. Look at the cute houses and the quilt.
Then there was a sweet little metal hanger with a chicken in it. SWEET! A package of note papers and a pen. They are labeled, This Month, This Week, and Today. I will use them all the time. They are just right to help me keep things straight in my head. Then a Mary Engelbreit Pin Cushion. I love it.
It has the sweetest 3d heart and flower on the front.
Next is 7 fat quarters of some of the cutest fabric I have seen in a while. Makes me think of spring.
Here is a close up of the the little flowers. You can see the grid on the mat behind it to get the scale.
Very small.
Next she sent 36-8 1/2 X 8 1/2 inch blocks. They are all made out of light colors. I LOVE THEM!! I can't wait to make something with them. My mind is going crazy trying to come up with the perfect  project for them. Any ideas?!
Here are a few close ups of some of the fabrics.
