Gone But Not Lost

Once again, life has gotten busy. We moved! Over Christmas break from school, my family moved to a new house out in the country. It is a wonderful house. I love it. Not at first, but I do now. It will take a while for me to get used to country living but I know I can do it.

Here is the living room in a state of reconstruction. The walls were painted a different color, from this blue/gray to a soft orange/tan.

Here is the new wall color.

Laying down new floor. The kitchen had a hole in the floor and we had to remodel before we moved in. Love the look of the new floor!

I have been sewing. Mostly Hexies for the group I am in. The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. It started out as a blog but is now just a Facebook Group.

In my quilt group that I run with some friends of mine, Parma Quilters Anonymous, We are working on each others blocks. Here is the start of one for this month.

I worked on a quilt about two years ago. I still have not finished the top! But with all of the bonus triangles, I made this little quilt, wonky stars. I love it. You can see my husband's bald head. I wanted to leave his fingers in the picture so you could see the over all size!

Here I am with my cute youngest grand daughter. This is Cora, she just turned two. I have started watching them again. So, between them and school, I have very little time left. But school will be over soon. I only have a semester and a half until graduation. Then back to full time quilting and part time babysitting. I can't wait. Then I can start blogging again!!

The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap

Over the years of my journey on quilting, I have joined many groups. Some I have stayed with for a while and some I quit right away.

The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap

I have been with this group for seven years!!! I went back today and figured out how long I have been a member. I joined in February of 2011. Can you believe that? I can't!! I was just made co-moderator of the group by the leader. Yippee!! I can't tell you how huge that is for me. I am excited.

I have been away from my blog for a long time. I started college classes in the fall of 2014. My attendance to my blog has dropped every year since. I know that I have missed a lot of blogging opportunities. I have had many changes over this time and will continue to have changes, such is life. I am not in classes this semester and I will be taking only 8 credits in the spring, and then 8 more next fall. THEN GRADUATION!! I am so excited to have this time of my life almost to the conclusion. It has been at times fun and exhausting. But, I am ready to move on. Time to turn that page. I have lots to share and lots to catch back up on. Three and a half years of off again on again quilting. I will be working a little backwards and forwards, but I want everything covered.

A Sea of Flowers

Over the last eight months of being absent I have still been busy working on my hexies for The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. I make a pair of hexie flowers for my partner and I receive a pair of flowers every month. I have even started to sew the flowers together. I made a little collage showing some of my work.

Girls and Flowers

Good morning everybody. I hope your day is going well so far. Mine is good but a little sad. My husband and I took our daughters back to college this last Saturday. They will be gone for about three months. It has been fun with them home. Now the house is quiet. Here are the 3 of us with Chompie at their apartment.

I'm trying to get caught up on my hexies. I received these from my February partner. They are great!

These ones are from my March partner. They are so fun.
(Isn't it weird how my camera changed the color of the counter trying to capture the color of this flower. I tried to fix it but could not.)

Flowers Are Coming Up!!

I have been busy trying to get caught up on all my hexies. I have three sets done and I just need to get my March set done now.

This set is for my November partner.

These ones are for my December partner.

These are for my February partner.

These are the flowers I received from my February partner.
She sent me this very cool card. It has a pressed flower on it. I love it!!

I have changed my mind on how I am going to make my hexie flower garden. I am going to go around all of the flowers in another row of petals. I will set them all in black, but in between where the black paths intersect I will put a red, orange, or yellow solid hexie to break up all the black. I will show you what I mean as I get it started. It will be stunning. I can't wait. I need to figure out how many more hexies I need. I have a lot of them now.
