Maniac Monday

This is going to be a little different Maniac Monday. I am not making a list today or checking anything off. I will come back and do that later. For right now I will show you what I have been up to. My second child first daughter has graduated high school. Saturday was the big day. Oh we have been so busy. In the picture it is DS, DD#1, Hubby, then DD#2 and me. Sorry about the squinty eyes. As you can tell from the others we all have it. Below is the quilt I finished for her. She loves it, and that makes me happy.
School colors red, black, and white.
Pieced back.

Now that has passed us by now I can finished my H2H quilts. I have both tops done and I am working on quilting one today. I have a few more days then I will need to get them mailed off soon.

Blocks Coming and Going

Here is an update of a few blocks coming and going. First of all thank you to anyone that participates in swaps or bees. I hope that you do your best work and that you try hard to give the person what they are asking for. OK sorry I just so enjoy the groups I am part of!

I made this block today for Ann in Let's Bee Together for May. These fabrics are so fun!

This block is for Melinda in the same group for April. I used almost the exact fabrics last year when I made a block for her.

These following two blocks were sent to me by one of my partners in Block Swap Adventure for May. Thank you for two blocks!

This block was sent to me from Debra for the month of  April. She was my first partner for Block Swap Adventure. I love it.
Look at the other goodies she sent me!

This block is from Sharon for April. She was my second partner for Block Swap Adventure.

Shop Hop Goodies

On the 28t of last month some of the ladies from my PQA group went on the local Shop Hop. We drove over 100 miles, were gone for over 7 hours and made 9 stops. It was a long day but it was so FUN!!! Here are some of my goodies.

Maybe this will be a new hobby for me. Making scarfs. The yarn comes in a bundle all squished together. They were teaching how to knit it but I have never knitted. I went on youtube, love that site for learning something new, and found a Spanish speaking lady teaching how to crochet them. I just turned off the sound and watched. I love this scarf!!

I saw this in one shop finished and I loved it. Looks so fun. That little roll beside it is for a thread catcher. It was a gift from one of the shops. It has a couple of jelly rolls in it to finish it.
Here is what was in the above kit. All the strips are already cut.

Here are a few fat quarters I bought and some that were gifts from a few shops.

My DD#1 picket out 7 half yard cuts of black and white fabric for her Graduation Quilt.

See those little hexies. They are 3/4 inch. Love them. They are for a tiny pincushion. I used some of the fabric I got to replace the fabric that was in the kit. I also bought a very tiny template.
Here is the pincushion finished.
Blue side
 Orange side.
This is one of those twister templates. So cute. Do you see how tiny it is. 2 1/4 inches square.

Thank you for going along with me to see my goodies. I hope that if you ever get the chance to go on a Shop Hop that you do, it is so fun!

Maniac Monday on Tuesday Again

It has been a hard week. The little guy I watch is having a hard time pooing. He has been extra fussy and has lots of tummy troubles. He is #1 so most everything else stops. I have gotten a few things done. Here is my block for my second partner in Block Swap Adventure. This block was paper-pieced and it was so fun. I love the way the colors came together.

I was part of a swap that I almost did not make the cut off time. I was late a day or two and the gals were nice enough to count me in. Thank you ladies.
Here is the package I received. It is so torn up. Sometimes things go through the mail wit not trouble but other times they go to "you know where".
Here are a few pictures of what I received.  I love all of them, they look so fun.
These where sent as an added bonus. Thank you!

I am part of another swap on Flickr. I ordered fabric from Fat Quarter. This is how the package came. It was covered in oil!
Thank goodness for plastic bags! So for everybody out there, when you send fabric or a block please put in a sealed plastic bag!
Here are the 5 fabrics I am sending to the group.
All cut up and ready to go.

I have finished my DD#1 Graduation top. I will be quilting it soon. I saw this pattern in a picture and figured out how to make the quilt. I had everything cut out so I was able to sew the whole top in one day.

Here is my project list for the end of April and the beginning of May.
