Three Months of Flowers and a Pierced Pen

I have been bad about blogging and got behind in posting my hexies for The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap

These are for the month of February. These are the ones I sent my partner:

These are the ones I sent to my partner for April. I have not received any yet.

On another note...this is what happens to a safety pen when you run it over quilting. There are three pictures from different angles to see the damage. You should have seen what was left of my needle in the machine. NOT MUCH!

I Love Rainbows and Schnibbles

I waffled over joining up with Another Year of Schnibbles. Sherri and Sinta are starting up another year. Last I only made 7 out of the 12 projects. So you know a little more then half. I want to do better this year. I  Just love having a box filled with these little quilts. I have a total of 16. I need to get them quilted now. Maybe this summer. So these little projects are the only "new" projects I am allowing myself to start this year. All of the other projects have to be UFO's. So let's get to it.

I love rainbows and brights. So it seems like every time I start a new little project I turn to these colors. I used squares from a charm pack swap I was a part of last year. Love looking through those squares.

Here I am picking colors for the borders.

Parts of the 9 patches. What a cute little stack.

9 patches done and the top is all laid out to sew.

All sewn together.

Here are the borders.

Finished!! I love the black and white. It sure helps it. I love it!!

Bonus pictures:

My Aspen tree growing little leaves.

I hope to be back soon. Have a great sewing day!!

H2H Link Up

I missed the Link Up party last Sunday so before this week is totally gone I am taking care of it now. I have decided that in the spirit of starting no new projects I am going to be using quilt tops that I have already made that just need to be made into quilts. I would rather have these quilts loved by someone then sitting unfinished in my drawer.

The first one I will use is the very first quilt top I made after finding blogger. It is Simple Sampler Quilt Along by Amy's Creative Side. It was a great way for me to learn how to piece. She did a very nice tutorial on all the blocks. I had not done any piecing up to that point that was not paper piecing. The blocks started out easy and then got harder as we went along. It is bright and colorful and I am sure someone will love it.

The next one is The Happy Quilting Quilt Along by Melissa Corry. It was her very first Quilt Along and it was so fun and easy. I loved the whole process. It is a great tutorial with great pictures. I love this quilt. I love the colors and the way the blocks look. I hope that it will make someones day.

Now for my treat. I love these cookies. The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies. My daughter makes these a lot. I made them for my Daughter-in-laws baby shower. They were a hit. One batch made over 6 dozen cookie. We do not set the dough in the fridge we use a cookie scooper and then divide that dough ball in half. Then we press the dough into plain or colored sugar. Bake per directions. You will then have a sweet great cookie.

Thank you again to Sarah over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict for running this for us. I can't wait to see the end quilts.
