2008 Saturday Sampler quilt is Finished!!

I started working on these blocks in March 2008. It went for 12 months. I loved it. I just finished it today with the binding, washing, and drying. I had my DD help me with the photos.

If you look at this block you can see that it is coming apart. It was my very first block every. I did much better after the first one. I love this quilt.

Here is the back. I only quilted in the sashing and the borders.

Edited to say: This is my challenge to the Amy's Creative Side's One Thing, One Week Challenge. Thank you Amy for keeping me on task.

I am still here. . .

To start off with here is a little visitor we had in our house the other day. What a neat bug. I love Praying Mantis'.

This is what I have been doing for the last few days.

I am trying to organize my fabrics. I have had this problem with my closet being so full. I needed to clean it out. I have a big pile of crafty stuff I keep passing over because I wasn't sure what to do with it. Then I read a friends blog (http://sewandsoon.blogspot.com/2010/04/scrap-bakery.html) about what she has been doing with her fabric and now that is what I am doing. Sorting, ironing, cutting and stacking. It is a lot of work, but I am having a good time. Here are a few pics. I will be back in a few days.

Remicade Friday

Sorry this post should be dated August 13. I have Still's Disease. It is a rare form of RA. Every 6th Friday I go to the hospital to get an IV injection. It takes about 4 to 5 hours. I am very tired and very sore the week surrounding that Friday. I have not done much quilting. I am getting back into the swing of it this week. Hope to be back with a few things to post. So for now I will leave you with a picture of the Oregon/Washington Border in between Enterprise,OR and Lewiston, ID.

Simple Sampler Quilt Along Week 8

Last set of Blocks. I really have had a ball making these.
Block 15 Aunt Eliza’s Star

This one was a bear cat for me. I don't know if my brain stopped working. I had to take out two blocks and turn them so they would go the right direction.
Block 16 Mosaic Number 22

I LOVE THIS BLOCK!! It is by far my favorite. I can see this as a Valentine wall hanging. Or a love quilt.

These are all of my blocks together.

I have broken them up in corners to see them better. I have had so much fun. Thank you Amy for having this quilt along. I can't wait to sew the blocks together.

Simple Sampler Quilt Along Week 7

I am a little behind but I am caught up now.
Block 13 Mosaic #10

I missed a few corners. I am not going back to fix them. LOL! But I love the red.
BLOCK 14 Practical Orchard

This one was fun to make. Very fast.

Quilts for kids

I have been working on my two quilt for Quilts for Kids. In the paper work they sent they asked that if you could to make a second quilt and send it back with theirs. My daughter picked out the material. Pink, purple with pink and purple butterflies on black. I have the tops done.
Here is the one they sent.
Before the borders.

After the borders.

This one is the one I paid for.
Before the borders.

After the borders.

I just finished a quilt.

My SIN asked me to make a quilt for her friend who is having a baby in September. I went and bought the material on July 23. I worked on it off and on all that next week. Monday the 2nd I finished it. It was my first quilt that I washed. I was worried. It turned out great. I did not take a picture of it after it was dried, sorry. Here are the pictures.
Here are the colors. She loves purple.

Here is the front.

Here is the back.

Here it is just folded on my table.

I got the idea from Oh, Fransson! here is the link. http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2010/03/charm-squares-baby-quilt-redux.html

Guess what?

As is I am not already to too much now I want to add another BOM to my list. Well I found a new blog and I love it. "As Sweet as Cinnamon". She is doing a hexagon Snowflake BOM. It is so cute. I will add her button on my sidebar.

Stash Manicure

I love this blog. It has so many great ideas. I don't have much of a stash but I am working on it. LOL!! Most of the time I really love the ideas of how to orginize. I have my stuff all over the place so I am working on a system to keep it all straight. So head over to the blog and happy reading. Oh and they are having a give away.
