For the month of July we got to pick out our own pattern. I looked and decided I wanted an easy one. So I made Domino. The block pattern is like a card trick where each "card" is layered over the other. With my colors and placement of those colors you almost can not see the pattern. But I love it anyways! Of course it needed to be Red, White, and Blue.

Maniac Monday
After a hard week filled with sadness and tears happiness and laughter we are finally able to get back to our lives. I have been to quite a few funerals in my life and I just could not be too sad at this one. I was just so happy that her long battle with cancer was over and that she and the love of her life are reunited that I was more relieved than sad. Now the last extended families are on their way home today, the funeral food is mostly gone, the flowers are dying, and I am ready to get back to my life. I am spending the day with family and friends sewing up a storm. I need to get back to "normal". I can't wait to see what kind of trouble I can get into, ha ha ha ha ha!!
I redid my week 1 block for the Tetris QA. I really was not happy with the way it turned out. Here is the new layout and game card. I like it much better. There was some talk of continuing the game on up to the next game card so the orange square in the corner finishes on week 2.
Here is week two. As you can see on the bottom is the rest of the orange square. I love this idea. I am going to try not to get to fussy over the crossover pieces. I could drive myself crazy trying to make all the pieces fit better.
Here is how my list stands and then my new list for August:

No Maniac Monday
A few years ago before I started blogging we had lived with my in-laws taking care of my father-in-law 24/7 for about 18 months. He passed away and we moved back home as the oldest daughter moved in with my mother-in-law to live with her. All during my father-in-law's stroke, recovery, and death my mother-in-law was fighting cancer. She stayed as healthy as should could for about 6 to 7 years. Late last night she lost the fight. My mother has worked in Nursing Homes since I was a kid. I started working in one before I turn 18. Off and on all though my life I have worked with the elderly. I have a special connection with them. I feel for them deeply. I decided a long time ago that if I was present no one would die alone. I was with my father-in-law when he passes. I help clean him before they took him away. Last night I was the only one in the room when my mother-in-law took her last breath. I cleaned her before they took her. I held her had and said goodbye to her and to what her and my father-in-law meant to me. Now they are together and I couldn't be happier. Her funeral will be Saturday. I may not post for a few days but I will still be sewing and taking pictures. Quilting is what I love to do and a part of who I am. To everyone: squeeze your loved ones a little bit harder today!!

The Heavens and Flowers + 1 Star
DH works as a big farm equipment mechanic. This time of year they are cutting and baling hay almost nonstop. A few nights ago I went out with him when a baler broke a chain in a field. This is a picture I took of the setting sun. I LOVE IT!!
This first set of flowers are for my July partner in The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. She asked for dark centers with modern coordinating petals. I hope these works for her.
These two flowers are for our fearless leader. She sent me a set of flowers to replace a set that I did not get back in August of last year. I wanted to thank her for her hard work. I love both of them, they are so cute. I think my next hexie quilt will be a fussy cut quilt!
Then I received a set of flowers from someone who was not my partner. I feel so bad that even after she sent mine she will need to make another set for her real partner. I am sending these ones for her. I hope she likes them.
Then a star...I received this from my July partner for Block Swap Adventure. It is so pretty! I love it. I say that a lot but each one is so wonderful!!
I hope that your evening is a good one!!

A Few More Finishes
This block is for my partner for Block Swap Adventure. She asked for yellow and gray. The dark color is a dark gray.
This block is for Let's Bee Together. It is a huge block. A little over 18 inches!!
Today starts the Tetris Quilt Along over at Happy Quilting. If you go to this post it explains the rules.
Here is my first block all played and colored. A little tip don't play the same color together. LOL!
Here is my block sewn together. I LOVE IT!! I need to find a way to surround my Tetris pieces in black so they stand out better.
I hope tomorrow is as productive as today was.

Manic Monday
Today I have a bunch of pictures. I have been trying to finish up a bunch of stuff.
Here is my May Schnibbles~Doc. I love it. I used one print and three coordinating fabrics. I had most of it done in May but just could not finish it. So I finally did!
In my PQA (Parma Quilters Anonymous) group we have been working on a quilt along. This is what our finished quilt will look like. Below are the blocks I have made and then the quilt with my finished blocks "x"ed out. Just a fun way of seeing what is left.
Also in PQA all of the members are making (9) 9 patch blocks, a mixture of boy & girl blocks to make 2 twin size quilts for a local shelter for kids. Here are pictures of my boy and then girl blocks. I will show pictures of the finished quilt tops when they are completed.
I have also volunteered to make 2 of my own twin size quilts. These are the 2 variations I have so far. They are 9 patches with 4 HST mixed in.

These flowers are from my July partner for The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. So cool!
These flowers are from a gal that I think messed up. I will be sending her a note to let her know.
At my LQS's Saturday Sampler we are doing these cute little stitcheries. They are to be finished into little pillows. I have not made it that far but here are the ones I have stitched so far.
