Charming Girls' Quilt Club Theme for Jan/Feb

I love this idea. Thank of a word that reflects what you want this year to be like. A word that can sum up everything you are striving for. Like a long term goal in one word. Mine would be:
I want to enjoy everything. My husband, my kids, my life. I want to find a way to enjoy when things are going great and when thing start to go bad. On a cold yucky day I want to find a way to enjoy it. Now I am off to enjoy the rest of my day cough and all.

Charming Girls' Quilt Club Goals for Jan/Feb

It is funny!

It is so funny. As I made my goals list for the November/December Charming Girls Quilt Club I KNEW that I was over stretching myself but I posted it anyway. Big plans big dreams! Well of course I fell flat. I did get a few things done but nothing like the list I had planned. I am going to post the ones I got done and feel are fair finishes. Here there are:
Done~October Saturday Sampler~The Black and White Garden BOM
Done~November Saturday Sampler~The Black and White Garden BOM
Done~Secret Santa Christmas Swap
Done~Le Petite for November-Butterchurn by This & That by Sherri Falls

Done~Make 12 ornaments for swap
I do not have a picture of all 12 of them together but this one is mine.

So for Charming Girls Quilt Club I am only counting 5 finishes out of 28. Next set of goals will be much smaller. Well I am going to wrap up the first 6 months of blogging and get ready for a new full year. I am making a few blog changes. Trying to make it reflect a little more of myself. Have a good night.

This next one was taken on our way to Lincoln City Oregon. It was our 20th wedding anniversary trip. We did not take the motorcycle. It was a wonderful trip. I can't believe that we have been married for 20 years.
Thank you for stopping by.

CGQC Theme Sept/Oct

I am still new to quilting. I have only quilted six quilts. I guess that is alot. LOL! I love quilting. I taught myself how to stipple and I love it.  I have looked at the spray but have not tried using it yet. That is my next step, spending more money on good batting a spray. For now I just use pins and cheap batting. After the quilt top is finished I make a quilt sandwich using pins. Then I fix up my sewing machine with the darning foot. After I practice a bit on some scrapes I just dive right in. I love the motion of the stippling. I could do it for hours. Just love the free motion of it. I guess that is why they call it FREE MOTION quilting. Then after that my next favorite part, binding. I could do that for hours. I don't know if this helped anybody but it is how I do it for now. I am sure I will upgrade to better ways as I learn.
This is my second try at stippling. I love how it turned out. This is one of the Quilts for Kids quilts. I have my second kit at home and just need to buy more fabric for my second donation quilt.

Charming Girls' Quilt Club

I have joined in with a group of wonderful women. Kelly started Charming Girls' Quilt Club back in July of 2009.  It is a place to post goals for quilting and everyday things. I have been reading her posts and they are wonderful. The first thing we do is post a list of things we would like to accomplish for the months of September and October. For me it will be mostly for October. Then you post about your finishes. There are things like monthly themes, quilt alongs, prizes. You have to be a member to join in the fun. So I guess this is where I start:

1. Sandwich, quilt and bind my Fat Quarterly Quilt Along quilt.
2. Sandwich, quilt, and bind my Brown Bag Contest quilt.
Sandwich, quilt, and bind my Amy's Creative Side Quilt Along quilt.
3. Block from Designer Mystery Block Of The Month.
4. Blocks 1 and 2 from Flowers of Love by Designs by Fee.
5. Blocks 7, 8, and 9, then finishe the whole quilt from Frosty Flakes by As Sweet As Cinnamon.
My list is longer than that but I think I will stop here. I only have a month. LOL! Thank you ladies for letting me join in the fun.
