Welcome to day 5.
I am so excited to share with you what I have been working so hard on.
This little beauty below is made entirely of 1/2 inch hexies. I LOVE it. I can not tell you how much I love it. As soon as I saw what the next blog hop was going to be about I new this is what I wanted to make. It has 127 hexies in it. All have basted and stitched. It took me FOREVER to get them all done. This is how far I got before I knew I was running out of time. I am going to continue to add hexies for another 7 rings. I want to add one ring for each of the 7 rainbow colors. I have the fabric pieces all ready cut and waiting to be basted. When all of them are done I will have added another 420 for a total of 547 hexies. I can't wait to be done with it.
Then just for fun I made this. I made 61 black 1 inch hexies. Then I made 14, two of each color, 1/2 inch hexie flowers with black centers. THEN I made 14, one of each color, 1/4 inch hexies to add to the centers of each flower. For a total of 173 hexies of various sizes.
So for this blog hop I made a total of 300 hexies. I think I am a little crazy for hexies. But having said that I am done for a while, LOL! Don't forget to go check out all of the other blogs on this hop. Below is the list for today. Have fun hoping!!

ReplyDeleteI can see how you might run out of time with allllllll those itty bitty pieces. You are indeed a queen of hexies with all this traditional type piecing, I am guessing. EPP? Both pieces are gorgeous but wowie, is that pastels on black striking. Congrats on top 2.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you love that little rainbow hexie at the top of your post. I LOVE IT, TOO! Just the sweetest little thing. Will you give it a hug for me? And the hexies on black? Stunning. Loved everything today. Thanks for showing us your creativity!

These are both just plain yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love the hexies on the black background. That looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteWow! What amazing projects! Top 2 finish is well deserved. I can see what you ran out of pizzaz to finish the rainbow one. It is absolutely amazing. I am a counter and haven't even begun to start to count the hexies in my project for my Grandmother's Flower Garden - it's too scary at this point to think about it. The hexies finish at 1" and I am piecing them by hand using traditional hand piecing methods. Thanks for sharing your amazing projects and participating.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! The black really makes them pop! well done.
ReplyDeletecheers
