The Scrap Savers Solution Book

Here is what I have been working on the last few days. I have so many irons in the fire that I wanted to do something silly. I bought this book and picked this pattern.

I also had bought some new matterial. I had gotten a Moda Scrap Bag. It is my second Moda purchase and I love it. I will post more on that later.

Charming Girls' Quilt Club

I have joined in with a group of wonderful women. Kelly started Charming Girls' Quilt Club back in July of 2009.  It is a place to post goals for quilting and everyday things. I have been reading her posts and they are wonderful. The first thing we do is post a list of things we would like to accomplish for the months of September and October. For me it will be mostly for October. Then you post about your finishes. There are things like monthly themes, quilt alongs, prizes. You have to be a member to join in the fun. So I guess this is where I start:

1. Sandwich, quilt and bind my Fat Quarterly Quilt Along quilt.
2. Sandwich, quilt, and bind my Brown Bag Contest quilt.
Sandwich, quilt, and bind my Amy's Creative Side Quilt Along quilt.
3. Block from Designer Mystery Block Of The Month.
4. Blocks 1 and 2 from Flowers of Love by Designs by Fee.
5. Blocks 7, 8, and 9, then finishe the whole quilt from Frosty Flakes by As Sweet As Cinnamon.
My list is longer than that but I think I will stop here. I only have a month. LOL! Thank you ladies for letting me join in the fun.

What I have been working on. . .

First off I recovered my ironing boards. Love the new look, nice and sunny. I have a full size board and a table top one for paper-piecing.

This is what it started out as stained and ucky!
See this hole, it happened when I iron some crayon between sheets of waxed paper. It squished out and I had to cut it out so that when I ironed again I did not get crayon on everything else. It has been like that for about 5 years, HA HA!
Nice new beautiful cover. So bright and sunny. The kids even like it.
Now here is my table top board. I only put a piece of batting under the fabric and you can guess it right, it melted. There are a few holes.  Now both boards have the stuff you use for pot holders. (sorry I can't remember the name)
Now it is nice and pretty also. I will be linking this up for "The Great Coverup".

This next one is for the Fat Quarterly Quilt Along. I need to just finish it now.
I made this pillow for my Aunts Doggie.

Brown Bag Contest

I received my Brown Bag package from a gal in Georgia. We are chatting on Facebook. It is so neat to meet someone you never would have if it was not for the internet.

She even sent me a neat card.

Here are some pictures of the wonderful material she sent me.

It took some time to decide what I wanted to do with it. There is so many different fun fabrics. I finally decided I wanted each fabric to have some time in the sun. A 9patch works for me beacuse you can see a good sized pieace of each fabric.

The kids will have fun looking at all the different pictures. She sent me 9 fat quarters and let me pick the ones I wanted. I love what I stuck with. I am going to call it something like "All the things a girl could need" Hope you have a good day.

Ugly Material Contest

At my LQS we go once a month for Saturday Sampler. I love it. I have been going for three years. DD #1 has gone for two years. DD #2 this is her first year. In the month of July they gave us a 1/2 yard of fabric with the understanding that if we took it we needed to make something with it and bring it back in a brown bag. My DD #1 and I took a piece. She made a teddy bear then used their fabric to make a vest for him. I took mine and used a Schnibble pattern to make a quilt. I used Bennington. Love that pattern. Here are a few pictures of my quilt.

Here are a few close ups of the material they gave us. It is the brown print. I added the solids. Glad I don't have any of the fabric left.

Tokyo Subway Map

I love this quilt. Tokyo Subway Map Oh, Frannson! Elizabeth Hartman made this little quilt and then asked if anyone might like to join her to make a big one. I said yes and so here is my start.

This is all my color pieces cut and about 130 of the white.

These are a close up of the pieces.

One top done and two finishes . . .

I got the top done today. I love it. As I was putting it together some of the blocks got switched. I don't care. I love the colors and each different block. This was from a quilt along from Amy's Creative Side. Now on to finish my other quilt along that I started and did not finish over at crazy mom quilts. I have all the pieces cut and the strips sewn together and cut again into sets. Now just to start assembling the quilt. I also started a new quilt along over at Oh, Fransson! I have started cutting out my 2" squares, Busy busy busy!

Here are my two finishes. These are the quilts I am sending to Quilts for Kids. The top quilt is the kit they sent me and the bottom one is a kit my daughter picked out. The bottom one was my first try at stippling. The top one was my third try. I feel I did a lot better. Hugs to the kids that will be getting these blakets. We are praying for you.
